Varicose Veins

The disease of dilated varicose veins is one of the most common chronic diseases in the civilized world, mostly associated with females, but is common in men that often do not pay attention to it while the problem is only aesthetic character.

It occurs in almost 50% of women, and a slightly smaller percentage of men, mostly because men have been hiding these problems so far or did not pay attention to them. Spider Veins

Visible smaller veins of the legs are popularly called "capillaries" - those are smaller surface veins, which are usually reddish or bluish-purple color. Listed veins are divided into two groups - 2mm width - telangiectasia, spider veins or bristle veins, and those of 2 to 4 mm wide - reticular veins or varicose veins.

"Capillaries" for many people are primarily aesthetic deficit, but some may feel the pain or discomfort in the legs, and night cramps.

Deep Vein Thrombosis

Thrombosis is the name of the clot formation in the lumen of blood vessels. It occurs when veins in the extremities differentiate between superficial thrombosis and deep vein thrombosis. Superficial thrombosis is always accompanied by inflammation of the affected veins and therefore very painful.

Without treatment thrombosis tends to spread and increase the number of affected veins and the abstraction and deep vein. Complications of superficial thrombosis, inflammation of the surrounding tissue, abscess same vein with the possibility of sepsis and deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Deep vein thrombosis develops insidiously long and it is not painful.

It can affect all three segments of the lower limbs (calf, thigh, pelvis), so we're talking about one, two, or floored thrombosis. It is characteristic that about a week after the onset of thrombosis appear the first real symptoms: watery, swollen part of the limb which is located peripherally of the blockage.

The most common causes of deep vein thrombosis are: genetic tendency (thrombophilia), smoking in combination with estrogen contraceptives, long journeys by plane or bus, immobility due to surgery or injury and malignant diseases. Deep vein thrombosis can occur in anyone, at any age and without the presence of the above risk factors.

Color Doppler Ultrasound

What to do if you have these symptoms? If you have any of these symptoms it is time for a thorough review. You should visit a vein specialist that would do a clinical examination and a Color Doppler Ultrasound recording veins. Color Doppler Ultrasound observes changes in the veins, their function and blood flow, and thus reveals the cause of the problem determining the basis of the treatment. Careful preformation of Color Doppler Ultrasound is extremely important because rapid and superficial examination can make mistakes.

The doctor must examine all the veins (venous map), find the places where the valves gave way to these locations were treated. The optimum is to be seen by a professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of veins because he knows how to observe the essential elements of your disease. After a thorough review, it is necessary to determine the best way on how to proceed with treatment. Doppler criteria for carrying out the procedure are very precise and should be respected.
